Judging someone on the basis of firstly How they look.. then how they behave.. how they interact.. how they are carrying on with their lives is a very.. very common phenomenon found in all of us.. All!!
At some point or the other, we feel a sudden urge to criticize about other people.. discussing and gossiping.. And interestingly it feels like a fun activity. Even though the person has never personally harmed us.. then why do we feel like " Okay let us find something wrong in this person and then we will have a fun gossip about it".
No matter how many times we say.. we post status on Facebook or anywhere saying "Don't judge" we end up doing the same thing and then expect others not to..? How is this possible if we ourselves cannot resist the temptation.
Well girls are infamous for this "PNPC" since ages.. but boys are also not far behind. This is a common behavior which obviously wasn't present in our childhood but we grew up seeing such things and thus learned and made it a habit unconciously.
As we all know.. there are two ways of perceiving things : Negatively and Positively.
I blabbered a in the above paragraphs, the negative parts of it.
Just a shift in thinking can turn the direction of this whole "judging" thing. How? Well.. if we r so tempted to poke our nose in someone else's life.. why not we analyze the troubles a person is facing.. Why don't we develop a feeling compassion.. Why don't we have the urge to try and help the person we feel is disturbed (i.e we analyzed that some thing is wrong with this fellow).. If we only complete the part which is bracketed its called judging.. and if we develop the feeling of compassion and humanity and try to sought out what is it that is troubling the person or how can I help him/her.. takes the whole thing to another level.
Now many will say, Who has the time to think about others. Well if you have time to critisize someone on the basis of how they are living their lives then you can surely spare this much time to give it a thought.. to the reasons they are this way. And if you can't, then don't complain when someone else does the same thing to you.
Its quite simple.. what you give.. you receive.. If you give out kindness then you will receive the same from others.. Like what goes around, comes around.
So the next time you feel the temptation to judge, think about the positive perspective of it for sometime. Someday it might change your life too.
